TTD Arjitha Sevas: Complete List with Costs

Arjitha sevas are the paid rituals at Tirumala that devotees can sponsor and participate in, as distinct from the free Sarva Darshan. They range from the pre-dawn Suprabhatham (around ₹120) and the daily Thomala and Archana, through the weekly sevas such as Visesha Pooja on Mondays (₹600), Ashtadala Pada Padmaradhana on Tuesdays (₹1,250), Sahasra Kalasabhishekam on Wednesdays (₹850), the Thursday Tiruppavada (₹850) and the Friday Abhishekam (₹750) and Nijapada Darshanam (₹200), up to elaborate utsava sevas like Kalyanotsavam (₹1,000). Most are booked online via an electronic dip on the TTD portal. Rates change, so confirm current figures on tirumala.org.

What “Arjitha” means

Arjitham means a seva or darshan offered to the Lord on payment of a fee fixed by the temple management. The opposite is the free Sarva Darshan. Arjitha sevas let a devotee sponsor a specific ritual, be present for it, and receive prasadam. They are grouped broadly into daily sevas, weekly sevas and periodic or annual utsava sevas, each with its own day, timing and cost.

The daily Arjitha sevas

  • Suprabhatham: the dawn awakening service, around 02:30 to 03:00 hrs, commonly cited at about ₹120 per person.
  • Thomala Seva: the morning garland offering, soon after Suprabhatham.
  • Archana: recitation of the Lord’s 108 names, within the morning routine.
  • Each daily seva includes single laddu prasadam.

The weekly Arjitha sevas

  • Monday, Visesha Pooja: report 06:45 hrs, seva 07:30 hrs, ₹600.
  • Tuesday, Ashtadala Pada Padmaradhana: report 05:00 hrs, seva 06:00 hrs, ₹1,250. The feet are worshipped with 108 golden lotuses.
  • Wednesday, Sahasra Kalasabhishekam: seva around 06:00 hrs, ₹850. Abhishekam with sacred-water pots.
  • Thursday, Tiruppavada Seva: report 05:00 hrs, seva 06:15 hrs, ₹850; Poolangi Seva follows.
  • Friday, Abhishekam: report 03:00 hrs, seva 03:30 hrs, ₹750; Nijapada Darshanam follows at 05:30 hrs, ₹200.
  • Saturday, Samaveda Pushparchana is among the weekend offerings.

All these weekly sevas include single laddu prasadam. The figures are from the TTD weekly sevas schedule and are revised periodically, so verify them at booking.

Utsava and periodic sevas

Beyond the daily and weekly sevas, TTD performs utsava sevas on the processional deity, Malayappa Swamy. These include Kalyanotsavam (the celestial wedding, ₹1,000, two adults per ticket with a Vastram and laddus), Arjitha Brahmotsavam, Dolotsavam (the swing festival), Vasanthotsavam (the spring festival) and Sahasra Deepalankarana (the thousand-lamps evening seva). The quota for these is usually released online the day after the morning-seva release.

How to book any Arjitha seva

Arjitha sevas are allotted online through ttdevasthanams.ap.gov.in. TTD commonly uses an electronic dip rather than first-come-first-served: register interest in the open window, the system draws allottees, and selected devotees pay before the deadline (often before noon the next day) to confirm. Log in, choose the seva and date, enter participant details and any gotra requested, and pay. Carry the photo ID used at booking, and note that the morning sevas require an overnight stay at Tirumala because reporting is in the small hours.

For what it’s worth, a first-time seva-goer gets the best value from the Friday combination: the Abhishekam followed by the ₹200 Nijapada Darshanam, which together show the deity bathed and then reveal the sacred feet, an experience no daytime darshan provides.

Common questions

What is the cheapest Arjitha seva at Tirumala?

Among the listed sevas, Suprabhatham at around ₹120 and the Friday Nijapada Darshanam at ₹200 are the most affordable, both including single laddu prasadam. Costs are revised by TTD, so confirm the current figures on the weekly and daily sevas pages of tirumala.org before booking.

Are seva tickets first-come-first-served?

Mostly no. TTD uses an electronic dip for Arjitha sevas: you register in a window, a random draw allots the slots, and winners pay before the deadline to confirm. This replaces a pure click race. A small spot quota is sometimes released at counters, but the online dip is the main route.

Do all sevas include laddu prasadam?

The daily and weekly sevas typically include single laddu prasadam, while the utsava sevas can give more; Kalyanotsavam, for instance, includes a Vastram, one big laddu and two small laddus. The exact entitlement is set per seva and can change, so check the current terms when you book.

Which seva needs an overnight stay?

The morning sevas, Suprabhatham, Thomala, the Friday Abhishekam and the early weekly sevas, report in the small hours (03:00 to 05:00 hrs), so they effectively require a night’s stay at Tirumala. Evening sevas like Sahasra Deepalankarana and midday ones like Kalyanotsavam are easier for day visitors. Book accommodation separately through the monthly online quota.

A limitation worth noting

One limitation worth noting: the seva days, rates, reporting times and prasadam are all set by TTD and revised by board order, and the schedule is altered during Brahmotsavam and other festivals. The figures listed here are from the current published TTD schedule rather than a permanent guarantee. Always verify the seva list, costs and timings on the official tirumala.org weekly and daily sevas pages before you book.
